The Grieving Body - Ethical and Trauma-Informed Tools to Work with Grief and Pain

  • ABQ School of Healing Arts 4600 Copper Avenue Northeast Albuquerque, NM, 87108 United States (map)

Each and every one of us will grieve many losses throughout our life. It could be the loss of a person, pet, job, relationship, body capacity, health, sense of safety or larger global issues such as the environment and society as we have known it. Grief is different for everyone, and in your capacity as a bodyworker, you will touch grief in every client in some form. Some clients will have a more emotional response, others a somatic response. In this ethics class, we will explore the different types of grief, how our physiology responds to loss and share ethical and trauma-informed tools to stay in your scope of practice, improve communication skills on this topic and be mindfully present with your clients in their grief journey.
